Alerting Devices are designed to notify people of the events in their lives. A mother who cannot hear can see a flashing light that indicates the baby is crying. A person who is deaf or hard of hearing can feel a bed vibrator when the wireless doorbell is pushed. A teenager can be alerted to a ringing phone or TTY by a strobe light.
There are two basic components of any system; a signaler and a receiver. In the deaf Mother's case, the baby is sleeping next to a Baby Cry Signaler. When the baby cries, the Baby Cry sends a signal to the receiver that has a lamp plugged into it. The lamp then flashes, notifying the Mother.
You will see Sonic Alert, Silent Call and other alerting devices. There are individual components and systems such as the Ameriphone AM-6000. The AM-6000 is a system that alerts the occupants to the phone ringing, the doorbell, and the alarm clock. Other optional transmitters will alert you to the baby crying or the motion dectector being triggered.
These products help people to maintain their independence and safety while living full, rich lives.
